Leonie- I've been working at the Preschool since 2007. I started at the setting as the deputy manager but took the manager role in September 2011. I have completed a BA (Hons) Education Studies degree and I also hold an Early Years Professional Status. I am the setting's designated lead for Safeguarding Children. I am also a trained Forest School leader and have recently qualified as a Mental Health first Aider. I have a dedication and passion for promoting the best outcomes for children in their early years of life. I believe children learn best through play and at the setting we provided individualised experiences for children in our care to do this naturally. I love watching children grow and develop throughout their time with us. Old Dalby Preschool is a unique setting and I feel privileged to be part of the dedicated team.

Kimberley- I have been with the Preschool since 2011, I became deputy manager in April 2021. I hold a BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies and have completed my Early Years Teacher status. In 2016 I completed my Forest School Programme Level 2 training. I am the setting's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator. I love being crafty, baking and going on adventures. I bring my love of crafts into the setting and enjoy supporting children to make amazing creations. Each day at the Preschool is different and there is new adventures all the time. I love seeing children's imaginations grow, one day we can be pirates, sailing the seven seas and the next we are dinosaurs, stomping through a forest.

Our Committee
Old Dalby Preschool is a committee led, registered charity rather than a private childcare business. The preschool was started back in the 70’s by a group of enthusiastic parents and was set in the village hall. It has developed, over the years, into the preschool we have today in its own purpose built premises and very much part of the community.

Being a committee led setting means we, as parents, have a unique opportunity to be involved in these important years of our children’s development through the committee.

Obviously, we as parents are not experts in child care, Ofsted or the Early Years Foundation curriculum. We therefore leave it to the qualified staff to manage the setting and care for the children! Our role is to contribute to the decisions about the development of the setting and to fund raise for all the “extras” which make the difference to the children’s experience at preschool. We are always looking for new members to join our committee.
